Back To Reality

Fall has unofficially arrived, and with it came the (previously off-in-the-future) back-to-work reality. Boo. All summer long I was able to NOT think about work by reminding myself of all the wonderful things that would be happening BEFORE I went back, including: Labor Day weekend, Myah starting preschool, Mariana sleeping though the night, finding daycare, fall softball league.... I could probably go on and on. Unfortunately, all of that has happened and I am one week from starting up again, wishing, of course, that I still had more time to cherish every one of my girls' sweet moments, every single day. Even though I am dreading leaving the girls, I am so happy that they will be with friends in places that they (especially Myah) love to be, and still only two days a week. I'm sure after 2 or 3 months, I'll enjoy using another part of my brain again.

Enough pity party.... off to brag about the awesome and fun things going on in our lives.....
This past weekend was filled with firsts for Myah. There have been so many firsts for Mariana that it's really fun to have a couple for Myah. On Saturday, she started parent-toddler soccer, with her favorite buddy. They looked like they had fun, and I had an awesome time laughing at how cute 2 year olds are when they try to do big kid activities. Here are a couple pics:

Needless to say, Myah was tired and hungry and took a good nap after soccer! I bet it will be great once it gets real cold outside! Sunday was another fun day, as Myah had her first day of Sunday School. With Bible in hand she went off to class without a hitch! It's crazy how fast she is growing up. She is so much more of a little girl now than a toddler in many ways. She is playing more independently, NEARLY POTTY TRAINED, and she also STARTED PRESCHOOL today!!! (sigh)

We also got to celebrate Bapa and cousin Annika's birthdays this weekend, and had a great time with that. We enjoyed the awesome weather and spent lots of time outside.

On another note, Mariana is growing and changing as well. She still is quite a gerber baby, with cheeks to rival a chipmunk and a new-found giggle. She is so happy most of the time, although somehow we've gotten way off schedule as of late, causing more fussing than normal. Too much fun in the lovely summer weather we've had, I guess!
