The Dells

We had such a blast in the Dells. Even though I was extremely sick (and ended up sharing my cold with Dan and Michelle), it was hard not to keep super busy with mini-golf, make your own pots, candy shops, arcades, waterparks, food and fun with Dan and Michelle. I was amazed at how daring Myah was- we took her on an adult waterslide (of course she was allowed to go with us) but the whole thing was in the dark. Her face was priceless after the ride ended- it was literally stuck in awe for a minute and she was silent. Later that day she reported, "Mommy, Myah no like the big slide". Woops! So far she doesn't seem traumatized but we'll see as we go to waterslides this summer, I guess! She also hated the 100 gallon bucket that dropped water onto the "kids" area. Even though I felt a little bad, I couldn't help but chuckle at the 5 year old who stood anticipating the water dropping onto him, only to get totally destroyed and knocked onto his bottom. Us preggies (Michelle is due in April, me in June) probably enjoyed the lazy river and wave pool the best. Myah's favorite was definitely the kiddie waterpark, slightly off campus, but reachable via shuttle service, and I would bet the husbands liked the "hurricane" ride the best.
Anyone who knows me also knows that I really enjoy a thrill ride, so I can't wait to go again another year! Not going on the rides was killing me! We totally had a blast, though and would recommend a middle of the week stay at the Wilderness in the winter.
Unexpected highlights:
-awesome pizza take out
-amazing shark and other exotic fish aquariums
-no lines for rides!
-aspirating in the middle of the night
-awesome 2 year old behavior despite missing some naps and going to sleep late!
