Fours, Twos and Tales
It's been a bit since I've posted. Between juggling jobs, kids and stress, I have been finding it difficult to find ME time. Hopefully I can make that change though. Not much is new with me--I've continued to work with doula clients on and off and keep busy at North Memorial and Capernaum. Our Kids On Stage group will be performing this month- The Wizard Of Oz is our production this year. I turned 30 in June--YIKES, and Phil threw me a fun surprise party. I've also been having fun in the garden and tooling around in our double Bob jogging stroller Phil got me for mother's day. I'm looking forward to a mini-vacation sometime soon to get away from the stresses of life.
Phil has kept busy too, with more traveling for work and marathon running and keeping up with the yard work ;). He got a little promotion recently, too.
Myah, now 4 1/2 just got her ears pierced today! She was very brave, with just one tear running down her cheek after the studs went in. Hopefully we can instill good hygeine and ear care in her while she is young. She also enjoyed dance camp this summer as well as VBS and preschool summer camp at Calvary. She is getting ready for K-D (two full days of kindergarten prep) and this momma couldn't be more excited! She is getting bored at home this summer, even though we are working on learning to read and write. Myah LOVES math and is such a wiz, figuring out simple problems in her head. She gets a kick out of questions I pose for her, such as, "If we picked two apples from our apple tree, then picked 2 more, how many apples would we have?" She is adding up to 6 and subtracting by 1's and 2's! What a big kid she is! I don't think Myah will ever lose her spunk. Passion comes seeping out of her every day, and is full of what she thinks is humor, too. Love my firstborn. Mark my words--she is going to be something amazing some day! She is turning out to be musical, dramatic and artistic--so much so that I often tell people I feel like I live in a musical with a little sprite.
Mariana is changing every day. She turned two in June (although she tells everyone "two-half" to be like big sister). I keep kicking myself for not blogging more about her to keep these moments forever. She does almost everything Myah does. Some of the funnies out of her mouth lately: "Okay" (With her head thrown back- said when Mommy or Daddy reprimand her), "I want a snacky" (almost every waking hour, on the hour), "Hold you, Mommy" (when she wants mommy to hold her). Mari loves being mischeivious, playing chase, and caring for baby dolls. She is still pretty easy going for a 2 year old, and continues to do pretty well with casual potty training. Mariana's smile could melt ice.
