Oh What A Night...
I could say that for many of the last several nights. With a maximum of 4 hours of sleep several times over the last three weeks, I am beginning to remember what the last stages of pregnancy feels like, or the first stages of having a newborn at home! However, neither of those situations explain mine!
Sickness is the latest culprit. Myah with possible strep throat, confirmed pink eye, and Mariana with pink eye and an ear infection....wowsers! Somehow, I have been fairly easy going about the whole thing. I think God has given me a saneness, which is awesome, since calm doesn't always come easy for me. We are antsy to get out of the house, though, that is FOR SURE!
And then over the weekend we couldn't sleep because of the anticipation of Phil's marathon, (and perhaps impending illness)-PHEW! Speaking of the marathon, what an AMAZING experience! He did his first- the Twin Cities Marathon Sunday October 2nd. It was a beautiful day, perfect for running. The energy, excitement and PRIDE that we felt for Phil was really remarkable. He accomplished his goal and ran the marathon in 3 hours and 37 minutes. He really is a natural and has recovered quite easily with just a bit of stiffness. The event was so inspiring it almost makes me want to run one. Just kidding, there is no way. I just learned how to NOT hate running....
I love how in the "after" picture, Phil looks just fine, his normal self. :) Anyways, enough about Phil and I.... on to the girl updates!
MYAH: Having an ABSOLUTE BALL with dance lessons and preschool (2 mornings per week now). She has really matured over the summer and makes us proud by being an excellent listener and participant at dance class. She is busy learning how to "spell" certain words and is figuring that out by letter sounds with a little help. Her "go to" words are Mom, Dad, and Myah. She has also become quite the artist, and does a great job staying between the lines. She is also doing great at taking herself to the bathroom independently and loves picking out some crazy outfits.
MARIANA: Having and ABSOLUTE BALL testing the limits and playing "catch me if you can", and learning how to climb on everything! She is working on cutting the nasty eye teeth and has some new favorite words, "No!" "Don't" and "No way!" (can you guess who she says that too?) and is building her sign language repertoire daily. She is 15 months old and her favorite things are: bathtime, playing outside and books. She is mastering using a fork and a spoon right now, so ends up with some very interesting hair gel after every meal ;) She is still one of the sweetest and easy going toddlers I know!
The girls plan to be Cinderella and Gus-Gus from the favorite Disney classic, look for a blog about that coming up :)
Till then! God Bless.....
