We spent last week at my parent's and grandma's places up north in Hackensack. We had SO MUCH FUN! My mom and step-dad were up too, so Phil and I actually got some time to ourselves, which was definitely needed. Longville turtle races, A night away at a resort on Leech Lake, great food, shopping, Deep Portage, running, swimming, boating, fishing-- R E L A X I N G! We are blessed to have a place to explore and have fun!

Myah update:
our 3 1/2 year old finally seems to have moved beyond an incredibly hard and cranky phase (90% of the day being disregulated and frustrated!) to a more typical 10% cranky and stubborn phase. She enjoyed swimming in the deep water at the lake and is having fun this summer with her new (inherited) playset, learning more about chores and earning rewards, chewing gum, making mud pies, and playing baby dolls. She is still napping for a good chunk of time in the afternoons, giving mommy and Mariana a little quiet time together. This morning Myah helped mommy by filling her very own little kid grocery cart at Trader Joe's and loaded all of her groceries at the cash register. I was really proud of her and rewarded her with a coin in her "good job jar". We've started teaching her about the value of money and earning her rewards through good, helpful behavior. It seems to be going well so far.Jumping (on anything mom and dad will let her) might be the absolute favorite activity, as you can see below! I just love how her curls bounce when she jumps, so I let her do it more frequently than I probably should......

Love bass fishing in the canoe! nothing better! |
Mariana update:
Our 13 month old TODDLER is on the move and into: anything she can open, throw, carry, pull off, climb onto, poke her finger into, as well as destroying any tidiness or order in the house. I love watching her do it, although cleaning up after her isn't so fun right now! Her new words are: baba (bottle) pup (puppy) and the signs for "all done" and "milk". We are just starting the weaning process (which we plan to take very slowly). Mariana has just started expressing her opposition to her parents' opinions by throwing her head back during diaper changes or when something she desires is removed. She has a spunkiness just developing and is now an awesome walker and stair climber. She giggles really hard at her big sister and when being chased.
