Daddy's Girl

So, it was a tough day today. Myah woke up fine, talking in her crib, playing with "Marky", so I gave her a few minutes and then made my way into her bedroom to get ready for the day. I wasn't sure if we'd go to swimming class or not, since she's been fighting a cold or teething and a runny nose. Anyway, she greeted me with "No, Mommy!" I really should have just turned around and headed back to bed, because what followed was a disastrous 2 hours. Tantrum after tantrum I endured somewhat patiently, about anything from which socks to wear to putting her snack in a wide cup instead of a bowl. I tried giving her the benefit of the doubt, since I knew she hadn't been feeling the greatest. However, my patience wore thin and I lost it! I closed the door in the bathroom where she was and sat outside the door and began to cry. It lasted only a minute, but sure did feel good. I decided then and there that we WERE going to swimming lessons, even if she screamed the whole way there--so I could at least get a break from her throwing herself on the floor. After swimming, the late morning went much better, and I reminded myself that my sweet little girl just needed some extra love. When I asked her how she was doing after lunch, she replied, "Myah want daddy". Thank the LORD it's Friday, because mommy needs a break. And, as she admitted, Myah really wants some time with her daddy! The picture above reminds me of how important daddies are (She was playing in his dress shirt and being goofy with Phil on the stairs). We sure are blessed to have one in our lives who loves us so much . . . and one who has such great and silly energy.
